I think this is a great idea - tying the content of all of the different social networks to the user's address book. In the implementation, your back-end server will essentially be a "Meta-social-network" -- a network of social networks.

I'm still not quite sure I understand the pedometer aspect of the project, though. Also, I'd like to see a stronger, more detailed timeline in the formal proposal.

All in all, a great presentation, and it sounds like a cool project!

I would agree with Dan. I feel like the GPS interface is a bit of a stretch as far as relevance to the rest of your project, which sounds like a great idea.

The only thing i'm concerned about is if you're going to spend all this time working on a piece of software, you may as well ensure that it won't get passed off by facebook's mobile software or something equivalent. Its hard to build communities over mobile phones, bandwidth is fairly expensive and people don't always have the latest technology. Think of some angle that will lure users into choosing your software over the competitors and pair it with a really easy to use GUI and I think it has a lot of potential.
